Siblings Support Holy Name’s Future with Legacy Gifts in Their Estate Plans

Joseph Pecorino, Rose Brockman, and Anna Pecorino were siblings who didn’t go a day without speaking. That strong bond continued throughout their lives and influenced many of their decisions—such as being like-minded about putting others before themselves and giving back to their community with their time and philanthropic support.

After settling in Ridgefield, New Jersey—residing only a few houses from one another—Joe, Rose, and Anna worked hard to make a good living—but not just for themselves. They cared for their family and community, choosing to live beneath their means in order to give generously to others.

After a lengthy history of great health care as patients of Holy Name, Joseph, Rose, and Anna all chose to leave bequests of stock they owned to their favorite hospital. Choosing to leave a percentage of their estate allowed the brother and sisters to maintain their lifestyle while supporting a nonprofit organization that meant something to them—and their neighbors.

Once a bequest is made, some individuals choose a specific designation for their gift, as with Joseph. Having spent his final days receiving the compassionate care for which Villa Marie Claire is known, it made sense for his last act of charity to benefit Holy Name’s residential hospice. Bequests like these help to ensure the future of Villa Marie Claire—and all the programs and services of the Holy Name health system. Holy Name is grateful for the compassion and empathy Joe, Rose, and Anna have shown for future generations of patients at Holy Name.
